Print This  Save This E-mail This Talk About This ( 0 ) Question: What should we pay attention to when applying to VPSSA and OFCY funds- so we don’t jeopardize our chances with either funding stream?  We are currently funded by OFCY and applying for VPSSA.   Answer:   Pay attention to the target population being served.  Also, remember that VPPSA only will fund specific program strategies.  VPPSA funds focus on programs with a greater intensity of services for a specific high-risk population.   VPSSA represents investments in intervention strategies with specific youth with specific risk factors.   OFCY funding, in general, is focused more on prevention strategies with broader groups of youth.  We recognize these services represent a continuum but overall this is the basic distinction.  For more information on OFCY, please read their strategic plan at www.ofcy.org.
