| Are
you looking for ways to get involved in the community?
Are you interested in volunteering with children
and/or seniors? Are you affiliated with a non-profit
agency that could provide services to vulnerable
Oakland residents?
The Department of Human Services relies on the
generosity of the community and the support
of volunteers to provide a wide range of services.
Ongoing programs that serve low income seniors,
youth and Oakland’s homeless population
all need volunteers, as do our annual events
like the Mayor’s Thanksgiving Dinner
and the Spring Egg Hunt.
The Department of Human Services also has annual
funding
opportunities for local non-profit
organizations. Organizations that serve seniors,
youth and families may be eligible for grants
to improve services for Oakland residents.
